TryStyle TryOn App Privacy Policy

Effective date: 17 December 2025

Applies to: the TryStyle TryOn mobile application, related websites, and services (collectively, the “Service”).

Who we are: TryStyle (“TryStyle,” “we,” “us”). Contact: privacy@trystyle.fashion

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, how we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. App stores also require clear disclosures about what data an app collects, uses, and shares. (Apple Developer)

Important: This is a strong, “global-ready” template designed to align with major privacy regimes (including India’s DPDP framework, GDPR/UK GDPR, and key US state laws). India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 is operationalised along with the DPDP Rules, 2025 (notified in November 2025). You should still have local counsel review before publishing.

1) What we collect

  1. A. Data you provide
    • Account & profile data: name, email, phone number (if used), password (stored as a secure hash), country/region, language.
    • Try-on inputs: body measurements, sizing preferences, fit feedback, style preferences, and product selections.
    • Images & media: selfies or photos you upload for avatar creation / try-on rendering; optional user-generated content (e.g., lookboards).
    • Customer support: messages, attachments, and feedback you send us.
  2. B. Data we collect automatically
    • Device & app data: device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, performance data.
    • Usage data: screens viewed, features used, clicks/taps, session duration, referral source.
    • Approximate location: derived from IP (not precise GPS) unless you explicitly enable location permissions.
  3. C. Data from others
    • Retailer/brand partners (if enabled): product catalogue data (images, sizes, prices), order or basket identifiers.
    • Payment processors (if you offer checkout): payment status and transaction metadata (we don’t receive your full card details).

2) Biometric / face-related data (important for try-on)

Try-on features may involve processing images of your face/body to generate an avatar or render garments. We use this data only to provide and improve the try-on experience.

We do not use your photos to identify you in public, perform surveillance, or build facial recognition profiles for law enforcement.

If our implementation ever qualifies as “biometric information” under certain laws (e.g., Illinois BIPA), we will provide a specific notice, obtain the required consent, and follow a written retention/deletion schedule.

3) Why we use your data

  • Provide the Service: create accounts, generate try-on renders, save looks, personalize sizing and recommendations.
  • Improve quality & safety: debug issues, prevent fraud/abuse, maintain security.
  • Customer support: respond to requests, troubleshoot, communicate service updates.
  • Analytics: understand feature usage and improve UX.
  • Marketing (optional): send newsletters/push notifications if you opt in (you can opt out anytime).

4) Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

If you are in the EEA/UK, we process your personal data under these legal bases (as applicable): contract, consent, legitimate interests, and legal obligation. We will rely on the appropriate basis depending on the processing activity.

5) How we share your data

We share personal data only as needed:

  • Service providers (processors): cloud hosting & storage, image processing / rendering infrastructure, analytics & crash reporting, customer support tools, email/SMS/push providers (contractual confidentiality & security obligations).
  • Retailers/partners (if you connect to them): necessary details like selected product IDs, sizes, and referral identifiers.
  • Legal, safety, and enforcement: we may disclose data to comply with law, protect users, prevent fraud/abuse, or enforce our terms.
  • Business transfers: in a merger or sale, data may be transferred subject to this Policy. We do not sell personal data in the traditional sense.

6) Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described:

  • Account data: retained while your account is active; deleted or anonymized after you delete your account (subject to legal holds).
  • Uploaded photos/selfies: retained for as long as needed to provide try-on features and your saved content; you can request deletion.
  • Logs & analytics: typically retained for a limited period (e.g., 12–24 months) for debugging and improvement.
  • Legal retention: we may retain certain records to comply with law, prevent fraud, or resolve disputes.

7) Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards such as encryption in transit (TLS) and, where appropriate, encryption at rest, access controls and least-privilege, monitoring, logging, and incident response practices. No system is 100% secure; you use the Service at your own risk.

8) International transfers

We may process data in countries other than where you live. Where required (e.g., EEA/UK), we use appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections and risk assessments for international transfers.

9) Children’s privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in some regions). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child provided data, contact us to delete it.

10) Your rights & choices

Global controls:

  • Access / correction: request a copy of your data or correct inaccuracies.
  • Deletion: delete your account and request deletion of associated data (subject to legal retention).
  • Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent (e.g., marketing).
  • Marketing opt-out: unsubscribe links in emails; notification settings in-app/device.
  • Permissions: you can disable camera/photo/location permissions via device settings (some features may stop working).

India (DPDP): If you are in India, you have rights under the DPDP framework (including grievance redressal). The DPDP Rules, 2025 require clear notices, consent governance, and user-centric controls. We will respond within timelines required by applicable law.

California & other US state privacy rights: If you are a California resident, you may have rights to know/access categories and pieces of personal information collected, delete personal information, correct inaccuracies, opt out of “sale”/“sharing”, and limit certain sensitive uses. To exercise rights, email privacy@trystyle.fashion with subject “Privacy Rights Request” or use the in-app form.

11) Cookies and similar technologies

Our website (if any) may use cookies/SDKs for authentication, preferences, analytics, and security. You can control cookies via browser settings and (where required) a consent banner.

12) Third-party links and content

The Service may link to third-party sites (e.g., retailer sites). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

13) Changes to this policy
